View Full Version : Identifing critters seen under microscope

Can anyone turn me on to a sight that has good clear pictures of what you might see as far as critters go. Im seeing some weird looking critters i cant ID.Ive got a new micro. and 5.0 digital camera that i havent figured out yet,when i do ill post pictures.Science fiction looking critters.Right now i need to figure out if there good guys or bad guys,so any help would be greatly appreciated. Hey there BT, lots of good pictures on this site. You will have to search around but for starters, scroll down to the bottom of the page on this link and you will get a few links to some actual pictures.

Thanks Eddie,ive seen all of these and all the fish doc.pictures.The monster ive got here is like nothing ive ever seen before.I got a couple of pictures i took thru the eye piece(not good) ill post later.Still trying to figure out my microscope camera. Tuck

Okay Tuck, hopefully it's nothing for concern. Could they be water mites? They look pretty nasty...:confused:

It's one of thousands of things that crawl around in our water. 99.9% are harmless

Thanks Graham,and Eddie.Graham do you know where i can find pictures of the harmful critters i need to wach out for?Ie got a new microscope/camera that can do it all,but i have no clue as to what im looking at.Eddie showed me a great sight that showed a lot but it dosent tell if there good or bad critters.Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if hes good or bad...but i had a problem with a couple adults thinning and dying, and i found i had worms. i don't know if he was the culprit, but i did find one of those critters. they way it's hair/leg looking things moved absolutely grossed my out :vomit: i am not saying it's necessary here, but prazi pro and i have not seen any since. definitely check to see if it's necessary before you try to treat
