Dim lights or bright lights

I have a pair of BD's that their free swimmers never attach to the parents. I using a regular hood light 24-7. Could the light be too bright?

I use track lighting that is directional...I angle the light so that it cast a shadow towards the back of the tank on the pair...check out my overhaul thread for details on my setup

I use dim lighting in my breeder room
