I have a pair in a 30 gal BB tank.
Hang on filter & in tank sponge.
84 degrees
daily vacuum and 25% WC
Major tank clean and 80% WC weekly
The other day I noticed the female looked kinda beaten up.
Marks on her side and some fin wear & tear.
I thought maybe some fighting but have not observed any and I'm by the tank all day and have never seen that in a year.
She laid yesterday and the parents are doing they're thing with the eggs.
All look healthy & eating well.
Not sure what the cause is, the male is very docile always has been and both are excellent parents. I just saw her rub the glass heater similar to a fish with flukes, but only the one time.
Any ideas on this?
I'm thinking of upping the heat to 86 and doing 50% WC per day and observe for a few days.
I have no intentions of keeping these eggs, to many juvee's now, but I like to let them have them until almost hatch before I wipe them off.
