Hi All, I need help I just went to a pool store and ask for silica sand for my fish tank the man told me that silica sand will kill my fish, I know you all use pool sand Im I asking for the right stuff?

I just asked for their pool filter sand. Seems that I've heard there could be problems with silica sand but I also seem to remember hearing that it's bunk.

If it's pure silica sand for pool filters, it will not kill your fish. Put it in a bucket, rinse it in the sink or tub until it runs clear, and you're good to go.
