Discus Shaking tail fin?

Some of my discus violently shake their tail fin for about 3 seconds at a time. What does this indicate?

If they are adults I believe they are practicing the shimmy dance? aka the breeding dance, but I could be wrong.

I was wondering the same thing about mine. I didn't want to assume in was a breeding thing but they are getting to be about that age.

I have also seen this behavior with my discus. How old would you consider an adult discus would be?

I see that typically in newly mature (ready to breed) discus. If you don't see it evolve in to full body shimmy, I'd evaluate water quality.
