http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/nesser_2009/001.jpgI added some target play sand from home depot into my new tank, looks a bit dirty wouldnt you say.I was looking for a sand that was 1-3 mm and this sand looks great.I just hope It dosent have any carbonates like limestone, and that the silt eventually gets sucked up with w/c's and turning the sand.

Did you rinse it really well prior to putting it into the tank?

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu191/nesser_2009/004.jpgIt's all good today after a little work cleaning the water out,I would recommend cleaning the sand before adding it to the tank.I was just getting excited, patience is a virtue!

Nice tank! I've always wanted one of those designs! Maybe in the future... :D

BTW, Eddie was right... if you rinse the sand really well before putting it in the tank it will stay crystal clear without having the wait. Can't wait to see the future progress! Keep us updated! :)

BTW, I might loose the conch shell, if you're getting discus... one may get trapped in there. If you're getting Tangs... it would be a nice hiding place for a breeding pair of calvus... but otherwise I would remove it to prevent losses.

Thanks!,I like the conch but It serves no purpose ,It will always look good on a shelf or something.Ive already been doing some snapshot documenting saved under "Brian's fish" on my desktop,it's really cool to look back at things and see all youre work paying off.
