Most of the catfish that look like that eat other fish and get quite large. The catfish that have the downward mouth will not eat other fish but some will not take the high temperatures. Don t.

That's a Striped Raphael Catfish. I have 2 of them in with my discus and cardinals. They do ok with the higher temps are hardy and live forever. They are big eaters though so keep them well fed and keep an eye on your dithers. If it fits in their mouth it's gone.

Plus, if you have hiding places, you will never see them, so why bother keeping them in your tank ...
Mine comes out during feeding time. I have him with some large SA chiclids.

They are pretty much nocturnal but look really cool swimming around at night if you have "moon lights".

I have heard that you need to be careful with most catfish, because they may spook sleeping discus as they come out and about during night time.
I had rapahels in two different occassions. I have never seen them swimming around during the day time and I believe they were eating my cardinals.

They eat other fish... If it will fit in their mouth and they can catch it they will probably eat it. Don T.
