Removing substrate... cause some sort of spike?

I am wanting to move my eco complete substrate from my 75gal tank to my new 150 I am going to cycle. Is it okay to do half one day and half the other day or should I take it slower than that? There are 7 discus in the tank and it is on a eheim 2028 canister. Thanks for the incoming advise!

Well, yes everyone is going to the new 150 but the canister filter isn't going on the 150. It's staying with the 75. I finally finished the wet/dry filter. I was going to put all of the substrate in the new 150 and put some of the mulm from the canister in the 150.....

dumping all of it into a non cycled tank scares me :|
