After reading several recipes for seafood mixes I was wondering is there a reason you use certain kinds of fish ect. Or just what you can get locally. As the local Asian store usually sells a seafood mix that is pretty cheap that has shrimp, crap, scallops, squid. Any reason you couldn't use that. Any certain fish you don't want to use.?

Thankx
Drew..

i have used cheap seafood mix packs before worked fine you just want to make sure your careful about adding freshwater fish to your mixes as it may have something your fish could catch

I'm not sure about the crap, but a mix that had crab in it would be fine. I have used several premixed seafood packs in the past.

Wow, thats a first...never tried it. Don't think it will have much nutritional value! :D

You can throw most seafood into a mix, all very high in protein. I've only used shrimp, clams, mussels and several different fish. I thought of adding squid once and I think Mat mentioned that he had used it before.

I use cleaned squid in all my recipes along with smelt when available
