i have two pairs of discus, one pair red turqs two of them seven inches, second pair pigeon blood, one seven inch the other nearly eight inches. i have had small batches off each pair once, only about ten hatched then both pairs ate the fry, they breed regularly but i dont think the males are fertilizing the eggs? they are housed in a four foot tank for each pair, the water is as follows. temp 84 nitrite 0 nitrate 10 gh 4 kh 0 ph 5.5 they have a sponge filter in the tanks that i have turned off when breeding, the tanks are above eye level. do you think i should add a dither fish to get the male going or maybe even seperate them for a short while then reintroduce them. i have had them six months (the turqs) two months the(pigeon blood):confused:
