None, even at the present condition you will have some slow growers.

imo 8 in a 75 gal tank with 80% water changes shouldn't be a problem at all but i dont think i would do any more

discus need 10-15 gallons each. 8 is total for a 75 i'd add no more.

If you are doing 80% daily WC's, you are good to go, IMO, but you have to maintain that routine.

Congratulations! Sounds great. Just be sure to cycle the new tank before adding anybody.

i got a few questions about cycling the tank...seems as if i always do, maybe becouse it is the most important part..
heres what i have in the 75g-2 125g hydro sponges and a 110 aquaclear.
im going to put the 2 125g sponge filters in the 125g tank, with 2 new 110's, and replace the 2 sponge filters in the 75g tank with 2 new ones...
i put the 2 cycled sponges in the new tank water-then accumilate the new fish with that water while there in the bag-or a 5g bucket with there own water...
anything else i need to know?

if you take two well aged and already cycled sponges from the old tank....and put them in the new tank you should be ok

but I wouldnt rush to fill the new tank up with fish....a couple will do for now

in fact the cycled sponges will starve without some source of food/fish waste

maybe move 2 sponges and 2 fish from the old tank to the new for a couple weeks and see how it goes

you will have to monitor the ammonia and nitrite levels in both tanks for awhile since you will be adding bio-load to the old AC 110 when you remove the sponges

but heck....80% DAILY water changes is a massive amount and will do a lot towards removing ammonia/nitrite lol

You can have the tank running and put in discus and try to feed slowly for the first 2 weeks ...gradually reaching to normal feeding rate or the rate you prefer. By then, the biological filtration will be establishes and working effectively bi itself.

If you were to use a filter media or any equipment from another tank or another culture, you might just accidently innoculate disease from the other fishes to your further discus and that disease may not be harmful to the existing because the fishes there already got the immune but introducing it to the new discus might just make the discus sick if not mortality.
I always start drom scrath.....everything nrand new.
