Hypothetically, if a pair lays eggs in the main planted tank on a piece of driftwood, could the driftwood and eggs be moved to another tank (along woth the parents, of course.)

most likely the pair will eat the eggs. but if you really have a good pair it might work out(chances are low). you also need identical water parameters as the community tank.

I heard of breeders moving the eggs , they tell me is OK to have them in the air for a very short time . If I had to do it I would just transfer one of the parents , most likely the male.

yes eggs can easily be moved... I used to do it all the time when I raised them artificial and Its commonly done when you foster eggs to a new pair..

If you move the eggs and the pair be sure to cover the eggs. It gives the parents a little time to settle in without the possibility of them eating the eggs.
