thinking about buying discus

got a 45g tank with 2 angelfish and 6 serpae tetras.
can i add 4 discus?

i dont like my discus to be with any other discus and discus need at least 10 gallons for one fish. you need bare bottom with heavy filtation massive water changes,extremely rich and nutritious diet.you could have like half an inch of sand substrate after they,ve grown up....i,d sell all the fish and grow like 4 or 6 juvies in there.

The other option you have is to purchase some sub-adult/adult discus. I would recommend 2 maybe 3 if you have good filtration.

can i put 3-4 juvies in there now with my other fish?
i have eheim 2026 with 2in sand.
also have a sponge filter in there

i woulnt mind getting a hob filter for extra filtration

I would not recommend it since the tank is not bare bottom...The amount of food you would need to fee to get your discus to reach adult size could be issues with the substrate.
