LOL, You will know. :D Mine hang together, they will shiver at each other when wanting to spawn. You will see that they are a definite couple!

When I first came here it drove me CRAZY when people said this... lol

New: If you are afraid you won't "just know" wait until a male and female lay eggs together. The two fish that lay eggs together and guard them with their life are most likely male and female. Sometimes two females will do this but you'll figure it out over time. I guess the short answer is I wouldn't worry about this, worry about keeping your discus strong and healthy. A lot of water changes and a lot of food. Everything else you'll learn over time. HTH

LOL... I purchased 2 adult Discus and received them on March 20. They spent almost 6 weeks in QT. Once they were put into the main tank, one of them, a female WB, paired up with my (confirmed) male Eruption. They paired up after the WB was in the tank one whole day... so it was overnight :D They've been shivering and cleaning a filter tube since.
