I need a schooling fish, and am debating bw Harlys and Rummys.

I want a nice sized school with mass movement appeal. However, hardiness and ability to withstand discus temps and meds is equally important.

What are your experiences and opinions on these points?

Rummys are def going to be in a tighter school.

Hi Yas,

I've had both. I find the Harlequins a better "all body red" but the rummynose are definetly a stronger schooling fish, and when happy, that red on their nose is BRIGHT!

I'd have to say rummy if I had to pick one, I ended up moving the harlequins to another tank and upping my rummy nose populations after a few months.

Or, for something just a little different, with brighter, more shining pink/red, you might consider Espei Rasboras, if you can get them.

Yeah, if I could do it again, and I might, I would go with the rummy's. My harlequins just never schooled the way I wanted.
