I have two brilliant blue discus (5" +) size. I don't know their sex but for the past week, they have been staying together and chase away other fishes. They are both starring at the breeding cone ... However, both are shaking their body ... Would I possibly have two female fishes ? Is it true that only the female of the pair will shake her body ? But on the other hand, I thought the female fishes will fight against each other ?

Hey DD:)...1. both sexes shake 2. females such as 2 sisters I have lay/protect/eat each others eggs sometimes but they never fight 3. look at their thingys (vents) and see how different they are or are not. The female will be flat and won't have anything poking out until she has eggs, the male always has his thing out(go figure) but it points backwards (go figure)...Clear, close up pics would help if you can get them.

Good Luck with them:)
