He's a blue diamond with, sorry to say, alot of "issues" (not a term I frequently use).

Did you get this fish from the same source as the picture you posted?

Sorry to say, but this guy is extremely stunted due to being mistreated and should never have been sold in the condition it's in. He's emaciated also and shows signs of external and internal parasites. I think you should take this guy back to the store if possible and get a refund or even store credit.
Trying to treat it at this point would be expensive and the likely hood of success is near 0.
Please don't let this turn you against discus as they are well worth taking the time to learn about and this is a great place to start. Is he the only one you bought? If so I'd suggest starting over by cleaning your tank out and start looking for a reliable source for some clean and healthy discus. There are many sponsers here that would fit the bill, or learn here how to recognize healthy discus and buy from a local breeder or distributor.
It can be alot of fun if you take some time and research the different kinds available and learn the basics on how to care for them before buying.

It is a low quality blue diamond that appears to be less then healthy.

Good Luck

Keep him if you want <shugs>

Though he would make great stripper bait....

You can tell by the shrunken stomach that it's not well. The eyes are way too big for it's size, which is a sign of stunting. The color looks faded and pale, the fins are black around the outer edges and are frayed.
It all adds up to a fish with alot of different problems.

I would have a very serious talk with the owner of the lfs, fish in hand. I doubt if he will live long. Once he's gone, one way or the other, everything in the tank will need to be steralized before any kind of fish can go in it. Try not to be discouraged. The discus hobby is a wonderful hobby with a lot to learn. I took some pretty serious knocks when I was new (and when I was not-so-new!) and I'm willing to bet a lot of us here have. :)

I totally agree with Martha and other people suggested....since you bought that juv Blue Diamond from the LFS.....is that the best looking one in that tank.

look for an overall healthy appearence. Don't buy a fish if it has any sign of bacterial infection, as evidenced by cloudy eyes, frayed fins, sunken bellies. feces should be dark, and the fish should exhibit a healthy appetite... don't put a lot of emphasis on eye color, but generally look for nice red eyes.

Cheers
Francis:)
