I was wondering what is the average life span for a discus?
Who here has the oldest discus?
Hi Mugzy,
Seeing as you have had no responses I'll pitch in; I am no expert but depending on how well they are cared for, I believe that Discus can make around 10+ years in captivity. However for many approx 6-8 years seems more of an average.
Hold on, here is an old thread for you to check out...

I moved and shut down my tank for awhile so my oldest is about 4 years old. My friend has a Discus that's now about 8 years old and still going strong.

I've only had a few Discus but my oldest was 7 years old when it passed away.
The oldest I have at present are 3 years old.
Not very long when considering my oldest fish I have is in its 30th year in my tank and is a female clown pleco (Peckolita vittata) and my oldest Piranha is 28 this year.
