Made out of one piece 1/4" green acrylic.I made it out of green because they lay their eggs on a plant leave in the wild. Its 2" wide and 12" high. You will not break your tanks with this, not like the slate ones.

Looks good to me, Francis. When I had an Amazon Sword in the tank, the Discus went to lay eggs on a leaf and it was only after I removed the Sword plant that they laid on the filter intake.

I like them, Non porous material, seam like it would be easy to clean. Plus at 2" wide would direct the male right over top of the eggs instead of all over the place:)

Looks good Francis, Just a thought. Have you tried one yet? How well does it stay in place? Do you need a weight?

Do you need a weight?

I was about to ask the same as it doesn't look heavy enough to sink down all the way to the bottom of the tank.

It should work fine. I'm sure you will have to weigh it down but that won't be a problem. I agree that the 2" width could help keep the eggs in a tight group for females that lay all over the place. Let us know how it works.

I like it Francis. I've worried more than once about getting careless and knocking the flower pot through the side of the tank when I'm moving it in or out.

Hi Martha,

I got that breeding slate for US $9.00 plus a few couple of dollars shipping it across to Canada.

Cheers
Francis:)

I wonder if it would work to glue (with the appropriate sealant) some suckers on the bottom.

I was thinking the same thing Martha. But instead of glue, drill holes for the type of suckers that fit water pumps or stealth heaters.

not the most stylish piece, but hey, i prefer the look of a bb tank over substrate :alien:, well, maybe except sand.

i have to lift the glass tops to take out the ornament that i use, so
