i have two pairs that have spawned recently, one pair of checkerboard pigeon and a pair of red turqs, the pigeon pair are about 7 inch in size, the turqs are slightly smaller, but both seem to be losing their fry, they look fat and healthy and are feeding off the parents then they swim away lie on the bottom and struggle to right themselves and die, my water perams are as follows temp 84 ph 5.5 nitrite 0 nitrate 10 gh 4 kh 2 tanks are 33 uk gallons per pair . i have treated with malacite green and formalin premix. i suspected flukes , can anybody shed any light on the mater. as both pairs are in separate tanks but have the same symptoms:(

How are you managing to get your Ph to 5.5?

How old are the fry when they die, and what is your wc regime?

If it's flukes, you'll be able to see that their gills are working very hard and fast. You can try using formalin treatments at 2 drops/gal now, but if you find it is flukes, the parents will need to go through a serious fluke treatment. As long as they have flukes, the fry will too.
