I was curious , How many people out there use carbon in their tanks on a regular basis?

The only reason I'd use it is to help remove meds from the water. Large water changes can help with that as well, so it really isn't necessary to use carbon in my opinion.

I use carbon on my water BEFORE it goes into the tanks. Carbon in tanks only to remove meds...Bill

I used to use it but after joining SD and hearing the arguments for and against I decided that it no longer had a purpose in my situation. Now I have extra ceramic rings instead of carbon in my canister. You can never have too much bio.

I use Flourish EXCEL regularly, which is a carbon...so, if you are talking about using carbon in the filter to clear out chemicals, I voted incorrectly!

I use it only to remove residual O3 (ozone).

Best wishes!
