for quite a while ive been noticing my ring eruption condition getting worst and worst. it's stress bars are always shown, fins are usually clamped, its coordination has always been bad since ive gotten it, and i see it attempt to eat, and it gets a few pieces of bloodworms and beefheart occasionally. its body i have noticed has been getting worst and worst, the forhead is thinning and the shape is not as round. above the right of the eye.. the "temple" of the fish u can see a line/bone whatver it is. as you can see from the pics.. (sorry for the cell phone pic, i didnt feel like uploading pics from a camera) he is in a tank with 4 other fish and none of them show symptoms like this one.

basically what steps should i take next?

the first and second picture do not look like the same fish! i would think that that fish is severely infested with worms. it is extremely emaciated and needs to be treated asap. do you have a scope by any chance? if not, does the feces look normal?

If he takes flake, Angel Plus de-worming flake or deworm using fenbendazole in a mix.

you will need to QT and do as Eddie says but treat the water column rather than ingesting.

He goes for the food but misses are you sure he can see right, I have a fish that I have to keep alone because he can not see good, so if he is in with other fish he can't get enough food. Larry

In case you do not find it online, If you have a Farm or Feed store near you Levimasole is sold in a powdered form as a Pig Dewormer I dont have a clue what the dosage of it would be though.

I think it is gonna be too late for this fish. Levimasole is the only treatment you can use as a bath as Fenbendazole needs to be administered in feed.

It is very important that at the very first sign of behavioral/physical changes in your fish, to request assistance.

Best of luck,

Eddie

Sorry to hear about the fish. I was lucky enough to have bought some of the Levamisole boluse last year, before they became hard to find. But this place still sells them, unfortunately in a huge 100 pills bottle (I got one with only 24 pills). Al had previously advised me to use one big yellow tab per 20 gallons of water, so you can go from there if you decide to get this product. Levamisole comes under two names...Levasol and tramisol. Let me know if I am mistaken. You need to grind the big yellow tablet into a very fine powder, then mix them in a small enclosed plastic bottle, then add to the tank (shake the crap out of it first to dissolve as much as possible...I did it for 15 minutes and broke a major sweat). It will turn your tank completely yellow, but does not impact the bio-filtration. Leave it in tank for 24 hrs, then do a major water change the next day etc. Best of luck to your fish....you have nothing to lose to try it.
