There isn't much of an update. The fish always look the same size to me. Actually, that's a lie -- they look like they're a good size in person but when I take pictures and video they seem small.

The fish are still getting 4 - 6 feedings a day, mostly with beefheart, bloodworms, and pellets/flakes. I've cut my water changes back to about 50% daily instead of 90%+ daily because my water bill was getting a little out of hand.

Here are a couple pictures and video. It's interesting to note that only one of my fish shows striation -- all the rest are mostly solid yellow with a red ring around their dorsal and anal fins, sort of like Rose Reds/San Merah. They do have red and white markings in their fins. Out of six fish I have one very obvious runt.

Hi Ryan,

My pictures and video don't seem to show them as large as they look in real life either.
Looking at a couple next to the sponge filter they look like they are definitely getting big. They look great !
Your video sure shows how healthy they are, eating machines. :)
Great job.

Ryan,
They look like they've been growing fine for you...:) Use the Hydro sponge in the picture as a comparison point when you look at these.... It helps.. I usually tape a quarter to the tank as well so that I can guess better on the size and growth.

Keep up the great work.

That's a good idea Al, since I'm not gonna pull mine and measure them again till the end.:)

They look great. I have one of those runts in my tank as well. He eats well, just not growing like the others. Keep up the great work:thumbsup: I think that I will have to go and find another part time job in order to support my discus habit, so totally understand about the water bill;)
