I want to take the plunge and add a CO2 system to my planted 90 gallon discus aquarium.

I’m asking if anyone can recommend a reliable and trusting supplier of the equipment. Instead of buying the components separately from several dealers to get the best price, I would rather purchase the complete set-up from one source.

I’m more interested in buying components from a reputable dealer who knows how the system works and can walk me through problems over the phone when issues happen.

Any recommendations?

All comments are welcome.

Welcome to SD!

I can't say that I know a "dealer" that i "trust" but there are plenty of places that you can get all the equipment that you need in less than two transactions. The reason I say two is becuase of the tank. You typicall need to purchase that from a beverage supply company. At least that's the way I do it.

I have two pressurized systems that use controllers. I bought all of the equipment, except the tank, from Ebay. Here's a link (http://cgi.ebay.com/SMS122-PH-CONTROLLER-Milwaukee-CO2-REGULATOR-MA957_W0QQitemZ370230703000QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_0?hash=item5633783398&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14).

The best part about the equioment listed in the link is that it is an excellent brand with awesome customer support in the event of equipment malfunctions. I had a controller go bad within a year and they replaced it for free!

Anyway, if you do run in to issues and need assistance with step by step operation/setup, you always have your SD friends here to hel you out!

Hope this helps!

Best wishes!

I was in your shoes not to long ago. I found this to be the best deal out there and it has free shipping and good customer support. The kit also come with very comprehensive instructions. Last items to buy are Co2 tank of your choice. I would also get a drop checker as well. Ebay has em for cheap. Heres the link to Aqua Buys where I got my kit:

Hers a link to the tank I got:

Here's another good link to everything c02 and ferts. The diy reactor is super simple to make and very effective even on large tanks.

Good luck!

I would check this out:

http://www.bestaquariumregulator.com/index.htm

He's very knowledgeable and reputable on CO2 systems and equipment. He uses top notch stuff. I bought one of my systems (minus the tank of course) from him a few years ago.

He will answer any questions you have and help you get things set up if you have trouble.

I know he's very highly regarded among planted tank owners and on planted tank forums.

ETA: I see this was already recommended...apparently I'm blind. :D Evenso, highly recommended guy to deal with and everything else I said about him still stands. ;)

Id recommend the electronic regulator from aquariumplants.com. I have nothing but good things to say about mine and the people their are top notch. Any problem in 3 years, and just send it in to get fixed. Worth it to me.
