Green spot algae

I am getting green spot algae on the back glass of my tank. Any suggestions of how I can avoid this from happening and how it can be removed?

Green spot algae can be scraped off with an algae scraper. Even the magfloat kind will get it, but it will take some scrubbing. The Kent "pro scrapers" work well.

If your getting lots and lots of green spot algae all the time, you could consider supplementing with phosphates.

But if it's at the level where it requires scraping every couple of weeks, I think that's considered acceptable.
