what size heater do I need for a 30 gallon long? also how watts of light do I need?
I have a 50 watt in the 30G and I don't know if that is enough for not.

The normal recommendation for heaters is 3-5W/gal, so you want a 100-150W heater. Lighting depends on your purposes- if there aren't plants, then whatever basic single tube strip light you can find will work well... provided it fits...
