That's sounds about right. What makes you think that it's the older model? It stated that it's the AC110 in the description.

I had gotten burned on a E-bay aquarium purchase recently, and was not familiar with the AC 110, and thought I would post, and see if more knowledgeable people on forum could help me out. thank you very much for your response

The older model of the AC110 is called the AC500, which I bought in 1993. The AC110 is the "new" model. It is EXACTLY the same as the AC500 anyway, except for the different name.
