Just a quick question....
My Marlboro reds spawned yesterday, but today I see a few white eggs.
Would it be wise to try and remove them to prevent infection of more eggs, or better just to leave them ?

Not that I am an "Expert" like some people on here but I would leave them. No sense in possibly damaging the good ones IMO.

Take care,

Thanks Eddie. I'll leave them for now, and see what happens.
Just thought if it's fungus it would spread to all the eggs.
These 2 youngsters are sex maniacs anyway, so it's not like I won't get another shot at it :)

Some people add methylene blue or hydrogen peroxide inhibited fungal infections on fish eggs.

Thanks guys.
I've been watching them all day, and despite her young age, and the fact that it's her first time, the mother very carefully removes the bad ones with the precision of a brainsurgent.
Amazing to see.

My pairs always seem to leave the white eggs alone! Only one pair have moved their newly hatched fry to a 'clean' spot. If the eggs are fertile and healthy then a little fungus shouldn't hurt them.
