It's that time of year again. Black Friday ads are starting to appear.

It might be worth getting up early this year to save some bucks due to the terrible economy. Stores won't carry much inventory this year, so there probably won't be as many bargains this year heading into the holidays.

Almost all major stores have their ads out now. That's very unusual. Of the major retail stores, only Macy's, Walmart, JCPenney and Dicks Sporting Goods haven't given out their sale ad yet. In past years, the ads were kept secret until the last few days before Black Friday. The stores might be a little desperate this year.

I haven't noticed any super great deals in the ads I've seen so far. I guess they can't have too many loss leaders in this terrible economic downturn. GPS devices might be your best buy this year. Laptops, external hard drives, memory cards and digital cameras are also being heavily promoted. If anybody sees anything special for sale that looks like a really great bargain, post what you find.

all stores are probably gonna start to push this shopping day more and more. I would guess some stores are gonna run a "general sale" advertisement this early and the real shockers will be listed a little closer to the day of the sale. JMO

No, these are the actual Black Friday deals. Just look at the scans of the ads. They certainly are not as great as in past years. Times are tough. The stores need to make money. They can't afford all those loss-leaders like they could when the economy was strong.

Walmart just came out with their sales ad. Men's Wrangler jeans for $9.00 is a pretty good deal. Plus you get a free tee shirt with every pair of jeans you buy.
They also have a SanDisk 4GB SDHC Memory Card for $8.00. And a Western Digital 1TB My Book Essential USB 2.0 External Hard Drive for only $78.00. That's a bargain for anybody that needs backup or is running out of hard disk space.

Staples is selling 20 AA Duracell Batteries for $13.00 dollars and they will mail you store credit for $13.00. That's a pretty good deal. Plus they open at 6am, so you can sleep longer. Some retail stores are opening at 3:00am.

The 255W Garmin GPS selling for $120.00 at Pep Boys, Staples and Radio Shack is a great deal for somebody that drives a lot.

Anyway, I always like shopping on black friday or cyber monday. Remember, it's not a bargain unless you actually need the stuff and will use it.

It's almost here. A lot of the stores are selling their Black Friday sales items online today and tomorrow. Not a bad idea to buy online and guarantee a purchase instead of fighting the crowds. Also many stores are offering free shipping if you buy $50 or more. Happy shopping.
