I am setting up a 75 gallon planted tank. It will eventually have 5 discus in it. I just purchased TWO Aqua Clear 50 gallon filters. they each have bio, mechanical, and chemical filtration. Before I go opening the boxes, I wanted to get some opinions on the quality of this setup.
thank you in advance :)

I actually got the AquaClear 50... I didn't see a 70 at the store. They are rated at 200 gph each (max). So I figured 400 gph total / 75 gallon aquarium is putting the whole tank through filtration more than 5 times per hour. However, I guess I shouldn't expect to get the max rating out of a filter.
thanks for the reply

Two AquaClear 50's will be fine in a 75. One hint - heavily plant that tank with fast growing plants (Rotala sp., Ludwigia sp., and valisneria/sagitaria are good choices) from the beginning and use a good plant friendly substrate. Hornwort and water sprite are also good to keep algae at bay, but they will be floating plants.
