i would pick something red. as red stands out in planted tanks. and i would pick all the same kind instead of mixing. looks better to me. but thats just me.

The 6 juvies I got are San Merahs.. the parents are stunning, I can't wait to see what they will look like in my planted tank, you wouldn't be disappointed with them! =) Your tank is beautiful!

I also think that you have a very nice planted tank, mate- you achieve a lush jungle-like effect but without it being too overgrown like many others I've seen. I used to have a similar but non-Co2 setup with many of the same plants and lots of rainbowfish but it's a BB discus tank now. I also agree that you should maybe avoid pigeon bloods- they may pepper a lot more than you would like.

Just my 2 cents,

Colin

From my own experience: try to get full-grown or nearly full-grown discus - I found five daily feedings in super-warm water wreaked havoc on my planted tank. Also, I think I see some of the larger tetras in your tank which will unnerve your young discus while you're trying to get them acclimated and eating. Beyond that, most discus are raised in bare-bottom tanks and, I found, are unwilling to go down into the grass to get their food.

I have my juveniles in a 55 gallon BB tank now with a couple of potted plants while I try to rehabilitate my 125 planted tank.
