First, I apolagise for the algae, but it happens. In the picture you will see three fish all spawning together. The pigeonblood is a new addition and the other two have spawned about five times. Is it possible that the three are spawning together? The pigenblood (that is what it was sold to me as) and the other male are working together? I am assuming he is a male due to the fat that he is chasing the other fish away from the spawning site. Thanks for any input.

This happens more often than you might think. I heard of one case where all three actually raised the fry together.
There is no way to tell if the new guy is male or female unless you see it spawn. If it lays eggs, female. If it makes runs over the eggs as if it's fertilizing, it may or may not be a male. You'll need to see it's sex organ, which should be shorter and more pointed than the females to be sure. Even then, it's not 100% accurate.
