Found this along the river, decontaminated it and all that, of course it floats, but the cool part is the shape allows it to have a pretty solid stance floating so it looks like its in mid air....

Do you know what 'type' of wood that is? Certain woods are bad for your tank - cedar especially.

I dont think it is cedar, cause of the inside color of it when I broke it and when I cut the long end to the size of the tank...i do not know for sure though what it is, but I can confidently say not cedar :-)

Looks great! What did you do to decontaminate it? I may need to do it someday and can learn from you!

i couldnt boil it so I used a diluted bleach spray, rinsed like mad in the tub, then sprayed it again then rinsed for like half hour - used an old toothbrush to get into the crevices.
I actually turned it upside down and the thick prt is at the top now, which I like better cause it looks like roots in the water now - fish seem to dig it....
I also scraped ALL of the lighter green paint off the tank, only took about 30 minutes and 4 razor blades to do, then put a slightly darker more blue slate blue on it, looks better, the lighter green was washing out the plants, the bluer hue makes the fish and plants pop better.
