I'm at the final stretch before I'm able to afford my discus. It's getting very exciting and I can't wait! Still debating on strains. My fiance, who puts up with me way too much sometimes, finally put in some input on what strains we should put into the tank. I was going to go a bit cost effective and stick to Carnation Turqs, Leopards and Cobalts (2 of each). But what we really wanted was some more colour so the discus pop out and are the centerpieces of the tank (it's a planted tank).
I know some of you out there have 'easter egg tanks' with a whole bunch of strains together. What strains have you mixed? Let's see some pictures! I'm going to keep some turqs, but what strains have a nice mix of yellow and red? Some of the pictures I see are deceiving because the flash blows the colours out. Also thought about putting in a White Scorpion and an Albino Checkerboard Pigeon. Also, I'm pretty picky about peppering...so the cleaner the better.
