I've had discus for 2years now. now if there were a female in the bunch of 7 i have would the female have the need to "expell" the eggs after from her body hence laying them to rid herself of them or does she need to have a male present to stimulate egg production? In this I would be able to determine the female if present. I wonder if all this time they were all males, for at this point I want to elevate my discus experience to breeding.

Hey Sang,
They can lay eggs without a male around but they don't need to lay them to rid themselves of them. I believe they can absorb old eggs back into their bodies and produce new eggs so they are always fresh.
