We are in the process of remodeling the house and are about to have the walls and doors painted. All of my tanks have lid but there are some gaps for the air lines and heater cord. They want me to leave the door open so they can, i assume, paint the edges of the doors. My plan is to leave the door shut if possible and touch up any of the existing old paint with new paint. Is there any thing i can do to protect the tanks from getting any of the fumes or over spray into the tank? No fish insurance was included in the contract:D. lol. I know i have read some where before about some kind of fumes affecting the discus. Thanks

go to home depot and buy some plastic drop-clog ht(not sure about the name)
and cover the tank. An old blanket/anything rly would do.

Most interior paints do not produce harmful fumes.

Thanks for the responses. I spoke with the guys and they said i could keep my door closed so i will. I just didnt want to hold them responsible for anything if something went wrong in the tanks.
