it looks like programming code. i'd say it's safe to ignore it.

do you mean just filial? that is generally used as F1, F2, F3...so on. It is the progression of a certain breeding program. if two fish mate their offspring will be F1's

Yasmin is correct in that the " bit is a left over from when SD was ported onto the vBulletin version we use now.
Filial means son (and/or daughter in some definitions) and is used in breeding to identify offspring generations as Ricardo says.
