Hi,

Yesterday I just got my Singapore arrival, four 10cm. discuss and I have put them in quarantine.
My question is ,first days do I need to do WC daily routine?
Do I need to treat them with any drugs (ESHA, Octozine, Prazi, …etc.)?

Fishes are still dizzy and they swim unbalanced. I don’t want to disturb them even more.

Thank you :)

Just keep them comfortable, tank lights out, temp a little warm (86F), good aeration and not alot of commotion. Usually the commotion part is tough since we all like spending the better part of our day, directly in front of the tank when we get new fish. :D

I'd add several air stones initially then once they've settled in better take a couple out. If you have an RO unit you may up the ratio of RO water to tap water (maybe half and half or 1/4 tap 3/4 RO) initially to help with water quality. Then you can go to a more normal ratio (1/4 RO to 3/4 tap) once they're happy.

Merry Christmas!

Hi, unfortunately my new fish are not going well.
They are 4 fish and 2 of them are scratching very nervous, so I try 2 days of PreisColy but that thing is “ bulls...t” and waist of money and time. No improvement at all.
So can you help me with some advice?
maybe PP?
formalin?
esha?

Tank-QT is 70 liters,
temp 33-34c,
water parameters are 0,
PH is 7.5.
Daily 60% WC.

Thanks.

Bring the temperature down to about 30F. Do you have salt in the water? Add extra air via airstone. Give us some more symptoms.

Yes I add 1,5 TS per 10 gal.

Is TS equivalent to US tbsp? If you can use weight, use 100 grams per 100 liters.

Do you have access to a microscope? If it is parasites, PP, IMO, would be the best to use. If you do, use it at 2ppm for four hours. I'm guessing TS is teaspoons, rather than tablespoon. It's best to go by weight.

Hello, peris colly can help, but you have to give triple dose (eg 45 ml )per 100 liter, or do the short bath as it is written on the box of the medicine. iF that doesnt help, go for the more powerfull drugs. But you have to remember, preis colly doesnt harm your filter, so its the first choice for me. And definetellly bring down teperature to 29 degrees,

For now, indefinitely until the fish start to get comfortable. About 7 days will probably get them right. Make sure you add back any salt removed from water changes.

If the 2 fish that are acting strange, get too bad off, I'd salt dip them and then return them to the QT tank. Salt dip instructions are given in the Disease section, its a sticky. ;)

Body form is very round, so I must to post pictures.

Dont have any experience with those medications but it looks like one treats flagellates and the other treats bacteria. I have heard of them, just never used them.

Take care,

What are you using for a water conditioner? When did you start the Esha? What other symptoms if any with other fish? Laying down and heavy breathing has me thinking toxin.

-Water con.-sera aquantan
-Yesterday I start with Esha
-I’m not sure for symptoms of any other fish. Two of them are OK, one is very shy and one is heavy breathing, no balance swimming and scratching.

Thanks

Fish is not that bed, but I notice back caudal fin is divided on two parts.
Maybe fin root?

Thanks

Fin rot looks different than dividing fins. Edges are disolving and spines die off as well, not just the membrane between them, Could be that opurtunity bacterias will attack weak fish though. Can you post a pic of the diseased fish and what are water parameters?
