I know a lot of people use Manzanita, but I recently came across something called Ghostwood, anyone use this?

Looks like this:

Looks like the stuff that washes up in the creek in my backyard...

I also saw those exact same pieces when looking around online for manzanita. I've used it in the past for terrestrial projects only, such as reptile terrariums and for mounting epiphytic soil-less plants such as orchids, bromeliads and tillandsia ("airplants"), but never as aquarium wood. I also would like to know if it's safe to use for fish, as it looks really cool.

It looks like sandblasted Manzanita to me. :) I've seen Ghostwood for use in terrariums like Scottishbloke mentioned and think I've been given a few pieces in the past for aquarium use. It doesn't look resinous to me, so it should theoretically be safe for aquarium use after being soaked. Give it a try and let us know. :)

Cheers,
Phil
