hello, i say new(ish) because a good friend of mine has a 69 gallon bowfront fluval planted discus tank that i have helped him maintain for almost a year, but i myself just got my first discus a week ago. i have him in a 29 gallon planted tank for the time being, and am shopping around for bigger tanks. he is only about 2 inches at the most, and i have no idea what strain he is. i am running 85 watts on the tank, with peat moss/gravel for a substrate. i also have co2 injection, and a HOB 55 filter running only bio filtration. i want to get pics but need to find a transfer cord for my camera.
the discus i have is white with black speckles on his face and the top of his body. all of his fins are black, with some showing bright blue in places. he almost has a yellow tinge to him. i have been searching for days to try and identify his strain with no success. any help on this matter would be appreciated. in the mean time i will try to get some pics uploaded soon.
