So I need a quarantine tank.

What would be a minimum gallon size?

Would a Eclipse System tank work OK?

How about a 10g with a heater, air pump and a sponge filter?

Thanks for your ideas.

QT tank, I like to use 29 gallon.

I prefer to use a 10 as a hospital/treatment tank when treating one fish. If its a group of fish for treatment, I can use the 29. There is alot of versatility in having a 29 gallon available.

That depends on how many fish you're quarantining. I figure 10 gal per adult discus, slide down the scale from there. I rarely go lower than a 20H, even for one fish or a few juveniles.

Hospital tank I also prefer smaller, 10 gallon as a rule. Why waste medication in a 55 when a 10 gallon will use 1/5th as much?

I'd say it just depends on how many fish and their size. Crowding is stressful, and new fish are already stressed. No point in making that worse. Bigger is better, I'd say- within reason, of course, and that'll obviously vary from one hobbyist to another...
