3d carbonized filter cartridge

i bought an eheim liberty 2040..is it ok to use the 3d carbonized filter in it for my discus tank..?i've read that carbon is not good for discus.

As you'll see big debate. I use it and it works well for me. It's a matter of preference really. You'll just have to decide for yourself.
