If you've ever removed scratches from aquarium glass, I'd be interested in knowing if it was successful and what products/methods did you use?

Thanks in advance!

Although I haven't used it, I understand Janvil sells a glass revive system that car repair places use on car windshields that have been scratched by damaged windshield wipers.www.janvil.com/

Actually, I did come across Janvil products and am curious about them. I know the price is better on eBay for the smaller system, but Darrell Ward recommended 1200-2000 grit sand paper in Eddie's "...Haze on glass..." thread.

I'm going to talk to some auto body folks on Monday and research this a bit more.

I did find a couple of small scratches in my used aquarium...nothing to fuss over really and used Turtle Wax "Rubbing Compound". I used my electric car wax buffer and it helped smooth it out. I have to wonder if I used one of those drill pad systems if the added heat would have done the trick.

We'll see...I'll keep you posted.

Here's an article with photos that someone wrote about his adventures in removing the scratches in the glass:

Hope that helps,

Thanks Walter...I actually read that artical during my research and was amazed at the hours they spent buffing. CO is also called jewelers rouge and by comparison, the Turtle Wax "Rubbing Compound" was more course for more difficult scratches. We'll see how it all works out.
