I would like to thank Eric, he hooked me up with these AWESOME whites. Very happy with these, you could tell how they thrived under Eric's care. They are still settling in but here are a couple of quick pictures so you can see the quality. More pics to come.

First the WB pair, Male upfront.

Holy Molly Matt, killer WB's, you are so fortunate to have Eric send you such nice fish, I like the Mercs also. Are the WB's originally from Forrest or where?

Yes all of these are of Forrest descent. Thanks all, credit goes to Eric, they grew this way under his care! ;)

Personally, I like WB's with more spotting/color etc., however, I recognize how difficult it was for the breeder to get those fish all white with just a bit of color on the face.

Outstanding specimens!!

Thanks, Eric knew exactly what I liked. A solid white fish with traces of orange in the face and tail. Perfect!

As I type this they are cleaning a cone and dancing with each other. Don't expect much the first time as they just got in the tank but you never know.

Matt,
Glad you like them.....that was a little welcome home present!!!!
They have been producing wigglers in the grow out tank so don't be surprized!!!!!

Keep us posted.

I want to report that the pair has wigglers on the cone!! I'm beyond stoked. Within a week...wow. It was a nice surprise as i'd been away a couple days this past week. There are eggs still on the cone too, but they seem to be fuzzy. Things will improve i'm sure. Can't wait to work with these more.

Thanks Eric! :D

Thanks I know they got right to work! They seem to be pretty good parents too so far. Seems to be about 15 wigglers left. Parents moved them off the cone away from the fungus eggs (which were just taken out) and onto the sponge filter nearby.

As promised here are more pics of the Mercurys. Quality kind of decreased when I uploaded them and they seem a bit dark now I apologize. They vary from a total white, to a powder blue, to a grey...very nice strain.

Thank you all, I honestly was not sold on the Mercury just seeing pictures of Kenny's shipments. But after seeing them in person from Eric, they are much nicer then pictures can show mainly because of their color that fades from white to blue to grey and back and forth. Depends on the Angle you look at them from.

I'm working on the photography slowly but surely.

Heres some more for your viewing pleasure. Still working on shots of the WB pair, they don't really cooperate like the smaller ones. Again, photobucket sucks and kinda decreases the quality....I need to find me a gallery or something that keeps the quality.

This is the dominant one, i'm guessing its a female from past experience and limited knowledge hehe.

Mid water change, this is basically what you see if you saw the tank in the room to your naked eye. Very albino platinumish.

If you arn't using Mal's worms by now something is wrong with you. ;) These things are crazy for these worms and took them about a day to learn to eat them off the surface, cubed or loose i can use either! ;)

This fish intrigue me a lot now. I suspect photos can't quite pick up their uniqueness:confused:
So I depend on you Matt;)

Discus-n00b

haha. They are a very interesting strain. Its almost hard to describe. Imagine a cross between a Blue Diamond, Albino BD, Ocean green and maybe a white butterfly. It kind of depends which way they are facing. They will sometimes display some pepper as I believe they are PB based, but the pepper is grey and almost has a silver color to it. Very faint if at all viable most times. Keep in mind these specific fish are all no bigger then 4" so they still have growing left to do but I would assume they will stay pretty much the same to adulthood. Maybe we can get Forrest to post a picture of an adult.

Here are some pictures with different lighting, flashes, and swimming directions so you can see. Did not go for quality here, just fish color. I do have a 250w MH light running on my small reef next to this tank so it might throw some extra blue color into the pictures and make the fish look a little more pink then it should but not to noticeable.

Now that I think about it they give off a pretty big Ocean Green feel.

Thanks Eddie.

The WBs were kinda shy today after a WC. I put a cube of Mal's worms on the glass and the male hogged them all (Female is overly shy not sure whats up) and instantly he started getting frisky and trying to dance with her. So i took some pics while they were out.

Well more wigglers on the cone tonight! While dad was watching the kids, mom was out taking a break so I got some shots of her. Shes only peppering because of the wigglers on the cone, shes usually completly white like seen above.
