need some advice on what to do!

That's not unusual at all. Give him some time and hopefully he'll get the idea. That's assuming it is a he, of course.

Generally if you have 2 in the tank and the eggs actually get fertilized. Other than that, its like russian roulette. This is why, unless you know for sure you have a proven male and proven female, you should leave them in the community tank until you can see what happens. Just my 2 cents.

If it does get around to spawning with the female watch them closely. The females sex organ is longer and blunter than the males, which is shorter and more pointed. Even this evidence is sometimes mistaken though. Also, if they are both laying eggs, that's a dead give away.
