Not if you're using a feeding cone and you have other tankmates to share.

Get a feeding cone - SIGNIFICANTLY cuts down on waste.

Yes 1 cube should be enough to feed three juvenile fish.

Also as a side note. I use disposable pipettes to feed my fish. Helps me make sure the dominant fish doesn't out eat the smaller ones.

I thaw my frozen foods in a small glad container with a little warm spring water and feed them.
Whatever they don't finish is refrigerated for the next feeding. They are also great for measuring liquid meds and plant food.

My discus think frozen bloodworms are crack and they go nuts. [That's the baseline info.] They just don't take well to freeze dried bloodworms, however.
I have, the few months, begun giving them Mal's freeze dried blackworms from Australia. They love them.
My juvies are about 4.5-5" and they polish off 5 cubes within 15 minutes or less at a feeding. for 11 fish. Then in 30 minutes they are begging for more....I just upped them from 4 to 5 per feeding. They get those 1 x day, occasionally twice. Otherwise FBW, BH, some pellet.
Mal's freeze dried blackworms appear to be quite high in protein, I am happy feeding this nutritious food to them as part of their daily diet.
Best regards,
Harriett

harriett, i recently placed an order of mal's black worms. your fish don't mind the floating cubes?

The first couple times I I tried them on the freezed dried blackworms, I fed the loose worms--which floated everywhere and the discus got at them easily and got the 'hunting' aspect of this meal figured out. By the 2nd feeding they were way hooked on the taste. Then I tried sticking the cubed worms to the tank wall, but as the fish started to go at them they popped off. Now I just toss the cubes in. The discus chase them around and as they start to rehydrate, worms come away from the cube easily. I have both types on hand. The discus go after both the loose and the cubed equally enthusiastically. Cubed is easier to tell exactly how much you are feeding, of course.
Best regards,
Harriett
