I'm a great admirer of the Piwowarski lineage- classic beauties, and it looks like you've done them justice. Best of luck with the sales- I doubt you'll have any trouble finding them new homes...

I am still just amazed with these fry and for the price, if I had the tank space, they'd definitely be partying on my tanks! The parents are PHENOMENAL! Outstanding job!
Take care,

Boo... I'll be waiting anxiously until they become old enough to ship.? Assuming, of course, that you do airport delivery. Canadian breeders are far and few between so I get a little excited when I come across one.

Great look discus Vlad and extra nice set up in your fishroom.
The eye/body ratio and shape are outstanding. Wonder if you can ship to the U.S. in spring. If you can I will seriously consider pre-ordering some pieces.

No they not.
They are called Red Turqs
I met with them last nigt. Picked up 40 fry (not all for me). They fry are good size and in good shape after the long trip from Montreal to Toronto. By the time I got them into my tank it was 1:30 AM. This morning they took flake and look very healthy.

Dave Z you need to start with getting your Import License which will cost you $100.00 for a year. It may have gone up I am not sure since mine does not expire till April.

Me too. If one wants 10 and the license is $100, the price per fish gets twice as much :( Add to that the price of driving up there.... Is it possible to arrange a group buy or something for the US people?

Same with me.
I actually did look up on this and you dont really need an import licence(just needs to be for non sale personal) but just have to have US fish and wildlife inspect the package at the airport where they have an office at. Then have to deal with customs right after, both involving fees -85 inspection fee and then customs fee.
Ill be up for a group by since im in NYC. Split the inspection fees ect..

Well Eddie, if you can let me know exactly what needs to be done and how, I can get them for everyone upto southern NH. People can then pick them up from me if they are willing to share the fees and gas cost... If Vlad (seller)crosses the border to Burlington, VT, I won't even charge anyone the gas cost :D

Hey guys I posted a thread a month ago in the "Hey I'm Looking For" section about the possibility of importing directly from Alex in Germany. There seems to be more interest lately. PM me if interested. Driving to Canada is always an option. Either way doing it for 10 fish is not cheap.
Brian
I know, Eddie (from Japan) posted the thread on my request in another subforum yesterday night when someone was showing the pics of his red turqs of the same strain. But importing from Germany seems to be really expensive so driving to Canada is an option. But yes, getting 10 fish to cross the border with the amount of hassle involved doesn't make sense....that is why a group buy makes sense.

Ah thanks Moon and happy B-lated : ) Its true though what Vlad said that they eat anything. So less work for me figuring out what to feed them. Just wanted to know what size they can reach in certain age with good feeding+WC.
Thanks
I have tried calling to find out about what needs to be done in order to cross the border with fish and feel like I am on a wild goose chase. :( Started my call with the US fish and wildlife services who gave me another number who gave me another number who gave me another number that ended in a voice message! I am so frustated already!
By the way Vlad, your "keepers" look really awesome. :) I wouldn't want to sell them ever! ;) :D
