View Full Version : Mean Marlboro Red Discus

We have a 55 gal tank. We have a total of 6 discus 21 neon's. For some reason the Marlboro Red is chasing the others around the tank. What can we do to stop the aggregation? Their is one that is the smallest that is 2 in the rest are about 4 in. :mad:

This is normal... there will always be a bully in a tank. In time the others will fight back or just know to get out of the way LOL. Mine still fight between each other :). Its just how they are.

But, they are still tame compared to some other cichlids.

As long as they arent causing damage to each other, its normal and nothing to worry about too much. I know its a little frustrating to see our "kids" fighting.

It depends. There could be a female in the tank that is causing all the males to be more aggressive than normal. This is what's been happening in my tank for the past month, but you don't know which one is the female until you actually see her laying eggs. In that case it's best to remove the pair. Maybe that will help.
