Hi Everyone -
I wanted to see if anyone has had problems with their DISCUS from feeding San Francisco Bay frozen bloodworms.
I am told that I might get a "hole in the head" disease from it.
Is that substantiated or just a rumor?
Thanks for feedback!

I don't know about HITH from them and I can't see why that would be true.., but from a palatability aspect...many discus do not generally like them as well as some other brands like Hikari, IME.

Perhaps its just a misunderstanding. Maybe people were saying that if all you fed your Discus was bloodworms they might get HITH? Makes sense, if all I eat are cheetos for a week I start to feel a bit rough...

Recently I read that SFB "bloodworms" are actually a type of mosquito larva not the usual midge larva we think of. Might be why some fish don't like it as well.
I don't think a single food of any 1 type is balanced enough to be a sole food for fish. Poor nutrition has been blamed at least in part for HITH but I don't know. Variety is good.
