Hi guys, nice to meet you all. I'm William, nicknamed Will. A friend of mine from another website inspired me to raise discus. I have made a decision and I will be replacing my blood red parrot cichlids for discus in my 60 gallon. I'll be raising a type of breeder, called stendker Marlboro red discus soon in March. Just thought I would like to be part of this forum that is all talk about discus. This will be my first time getting serious about keeping discus; not just getting 1 or 2;I failed miserably in the past, due to no knowledge of keeping them healthy. This time around, my experience with keeping fish has gone up; I know what to do to keep my water quality top-notch, free of parasites/bacteria, and nitrate. I'll be grabbing 6 or 8 for my 60 gallon planted display tank in the living room for guests and the family. Around March, I'll be getting some discus from a local breeder named Bansart. I think he comes around, goes around here too. :p

I to have the bug and am in the process of making the tank ready for them.

welcome Will. how big are these discus? i ask because it is Hans from Baltimore who carries the Stendker line. If you talk to him he might be able to better help you and decide if that's a fair price or not depending on size of course. Stendker's are not cheap by any means but there is a reason for that, they grow big and they are beautiful. good luck with your venture my friend, and here's a link to Hans' Sponsor page as well as his home page:
